Womit wir genau bei dem Problem mit file waeren:

$ file -i ExcelFile.xls
ExcelFile.xls: application/msword

$ file -i PowerPointFile.ppt
PowerPointFile.ppt: application/msword

Also speziell mit MS-Office Formaten hat es so seine Probleme.
