Wenn eine Platte defekt ist, funktioniert deren IDE-Bus evtl. nicht 
mehr. D.h. das System steht, das RAID ist fuer die Katz und damit hat man 
evtl. einen Datenverlust (von dem was noch nicht auf dem RAID gelandet 
ist).  Daher sollte man bei einem IDE-RAID darauf achten, das jede 
Platte an einem eigenem Bus haengt. Hier hat das HOWTO voellig recht.

Als Alternative gibt es SATA, USB-Platten, USB-Sticks, oder auch 
Remote-Backup (z.b. auf nen billigen vserver).
